Cord makes products multiplayer. Cord’s software and APIs add a set of continuously evolving asynchronous and real-time features that teams love: chat, presence, annotations, integrations with task managers and Slack, screen recordings, audio messages, live co-browsing and video chat.
Once you've added collaboration powered by Cord to your product, a small circular icon will appear on the bottom right of any pages you define in your product. Your users will be able to access this straight away, without any separate log in. To open and close the collaboration sidebar, simply click on the circular icon.
If you are looking for how to add Cord to your product, start here.
Click the circular icon to open the sidebar. Then, you can begin composing your message by selecting the Aa button on the bottom right.
To invite a teammate using a comment, type the @ sign then their name (no space between them, like this: @Harriet).
To invite a teammate by assigning them a task, type the + sign then their name (no space between them, like this: +Harriet).
Whichever way you invite a teammate, they will receive a notification in Slack inviting them to join Cord.
Click the gear icon to the left of the face pile (your and your teammates' photos in the top right of the sidebar). From there, you can change your photo and edit your name as well as adjust other settings.

You can subscribe or unsubscribe to any thread by clicking the bell icon to the right of the "Reply to thread" composer. Unsubscribing means you won't receive any notifications about new messages in this thread in your Inbox or in Slack, except if someone @mentions you.
You can keep track of any conversations you were a part of or tasks assigned to you by looking at your Inbox. You can access your Inbox towards the top of the sidebar, to the right of Current page.
To annotate a page, click the highlighter icon in the bar towards the bottom of the sidebar. Or, start composing a message and select the highlighter icon underneath "Type a message..." You can annotate text by highlighting text or annotate visuals by clicking to drop a pin.
Right now you can only log in to Cord with Slack or one of our partners. Microsoft Teams and Google Suite support are coming soon.
Select Create task from the black bar near the bottom of the sidebar; it's the clipboard icon. That will take you into the composer where you can select the clipboard icon next to the word Task to open up the menu. There you can connect Asana, Jira or Linear.
Select Create task from the bar near the bottom of the sidebar; it's the clipboard icon. Or, start composing a message and select the clipboard icon underneath "Type a message..." There you can type the task and choose which task manager you'd like to use (Cord will save your preference).
After you create a task, you will see an icon of sliders to the right. Select that to choose various task settings, including the project and priority.
We integrate with Asana, Jira and Linear. To request another task manager, send us an email.
One of the valuable features of Cord is Slack mirroring; Here's how it works: When you @mention someone or share a message to Slack, the person @mentioned or anyone in your Slack organization can reply in thread on Slack, and that message is mirrored as a reply in the Cord sidebar, centralizing the information. We do not download your Slack messages, and have no access to messages shared in private channels or direct messages. If you have further questions, we'd like to hear more about your use case and clear any of those up for you. You can learn more about what information we get from Slack on our blog: https://cord.com/blog/slack.

To assign a task to yourself or a teammate, type + their name, with no space like so: +Anna Tate.
You'll be able to see anyone who's viewed that page in the top right hand corner of the page. If their photo glows, they are actively viewing that page. You can also hover over their face to see the last time they viewed the page.
Your team can only see which webpages you visit if you decide to start a conversation on that page. Otherwise, it remains private.
If someone doesn't have access to a form, they won't be able to access it from Cord, nor see any annotations unless they are shared to Slack, similar to a screenshot.
Conversations that your teammates are having on other pages and tools will appear in All.
No, and we never will. Our business model is to sell our Collaboration, Support and Broadcast APIs to other software products.
We take your users’ security as seriously as you do. That's why we have security-minded engineers from leading tech companies like Google, Facebook and Adobe on our team.
