Haven has two engineering roles live on cord, both fully remote and both with the salary in the advert. Lead Engineer at £90,000 to £120,000 and Site Reliability Engineer at £80,000 to £105,000.

The person behind them is Peter Milmine, who has started 967 conversations with engineers on cord since 2022. Here is who Haven are, and why their digital team is worth knowing.

Who Haven are

Haven opened on 1 March 1964 and has spent more than 60 years giving British families holidays by the sea. Today that means around 40 holiday parks on the UK coast, 3.9 million holidaymakers a year and 14,000 team members.

Over the last few years Haven has invested heavily in its parks and in the experience around them, from new accommodation to interactive maps that let guests choose their exact caravan, and flexible arrival times.

Simon Palethorpe is chief executive. In 2025 Haven was named Most Inclusive Organisation at the WiHTL and Diversity in Retail Awards.

How they perform on cord

The numbers below are from cord, on 6 October 2026.

  • Two engineering roles, both fully remote, both with a published salary.
  • Four live roles in total, all posted in August.
  • A 100% response rate on every role that has been messaged.
  • A median first reply of under two days.
  • 984 conversations started by the Haven team, on cord since 2021.

Putting the salary on a remote Lead Engineer role means an engineer knows whether it's worth getting in touch before spending an evening writing a message. Haven made that decision easy.

Why engineers stay once they get there

Remote first, with offsites at the parks. Haven's digital team works in cross functional product tribes of engineers, DevOps specialists, designers, product managers, analysts and content creators. They get together at the parks two or three times a year, most recently in Devon, Norfolk and Kent.

The product is used by millions of people. Guest booking across 40 parks, a consumer app, scan and order on site, an interactive park map, and an app the park teams carry on handhelds. The stack is React, Next, Node and TypeScript on web, Flutter and Dart on mobile, PostgreSQL and Redis, AWS and Kubernetes.

AI is part of the day job. Their Senior Software Engineer role is about designing AI powered features for Haven's products and using AI assisted development tools every day, and a strong desire to learn counts as much as existing experience.

They put the interview process in the advert. Up to three stages, which may include a presentation or a skills test depending on the role, so you know what you're signing up for before you apply.

Benefits built around actually going on holiday. 25 days plus bank holidays, with the option to buy more. An annual bonus. 20% off Haven and Warner Hotels breaks for you, your family and your friends. Up to 50% off food on park and use of the park facilities. Pension and life cover, a health cash plan, an electric car scheme, and access to the corporate box at the O2.

The team doing the hiring

The digital team sits under James Bromley, Chief Product and Technology Officer, whose remit covers Haven's ecommerce platforms, consumer and team apps, cyber and the use of AI across the business.
