JUXT started more conversations with engineers on cord in the last month than any other company on the platform. They did it across 17 live roles, all of them engineering, all of them in London.

Here is who they are, and why the engineers they message tend to write back.

Who JUXT are

JUXT is a software consultancy founded in 2012 and run by developers. Around 65 people across seven countries, headquartered on Pear Tree Court in Farringdon, with a team in Milton Keynes that has been there for years.

Their work sits in the hardest part of financial services: risk platforms, equity derivatives, structured notes, prime brokerage, trade life cycle. The kind of systems where a bad architectural decision shows up years later. Their team page counts 593 years of combined software engineering experience, which tells you how they staff a project.

They are also one of the few consultancies with a real product. XTDB is their bitemporal SQL database, open source and Postgres wire compatible, and version 2.0 went generally available in June 2025. Their GitHub organisation runs to 115 public repositories, and libraries like bidi, aero and yada have become standard parts of the Clojure toolchain.

Every June they run XT26, a conference for capital markets engineering leaders that you can only attend by invitation. The 2026 edition brought 250 senior technology people from the largest investment banks to Tower Hill in London. No sales pitches and no vendor presentations, by rule.

JUXT was acquired by Grid Dynamics in September 2024 and now operates as JUXT, a Grid Dynamics company.

How they perform on cord

The numbers below are from cord, on 3 September 2026.

  • 17 live roles, every one of them engineering or infrastructure.
  • 95 conversations started in the last 30 days. 48 of those in the last 15 days, and 20 in the last week. That is the highest volume of any company on cord over the period.
  • 366 conversations in total on the roles they currently have live.
  • 1,269 conversations started by their team across all their time on cord.
  • 15 of their 17 roles publish a salary band, running from £60,000 up to £150,000.

The last point is the one engineers notice. Most companies hide the number and then wonder why their reply rate is low.

Why engineers stay once they get there

JUXT's careers page describes a company run by developers for developers, and the detail backs it up rather than the slogan.

You build your own machine on day one. A laptop arrives, top of the range and completely blank. Configuring it from bare metal is the first task, and most of the team choose Arch Linux with full disk encryption. Anything else you need for the job, you expense.

Learning is funded, not encouraged. Training courses and conferences that fit your role are signed off, and you can apply for sponsorship towards professional qualifications.

Genuine flexibility. Fully remote or hybrid, with hours that fit your schedule. Their current roles are advertised as London hybrid or London remote, and there is a weekly team lunch at their London hub.

Health cover that includes your family. BUPA private medical after probation, offered on a medical history disregarded basis, and family members can be covered too.

A hiring process built by engineers. Five steps, and the technical stage is an exercise you do in your own time, modifying a real project, calibrated to the level you are applying at. Then a pair programming interview. Their talent team tells people to skip the automated screening entirely and send a CV plus a short summary of their architectural philosophy straight to careers@juxt.pro.

They are equally clear about what they are not looking for. Not prompt engineers. Not narrow framework experience. Engineering taste, and velocity that comes from clarity of intent.

Their stated approach to tooling is the same idea applied to technology. Rather than picking the best tool for each job, they master a small number of powerful and composable ones. Simplicity delivers results, as their values put it.

The team doing the hiring

Three people account for most of JUXT's activity on cord, and their numbers explain the reply rate.

  • Mark Jones, Talent Acquisition. 516 conversations started on cord, and the named contact on 11 of the 17 live roles.
  • Andrew Clark, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist. 395 conversations. Andrew used cord at GlobalLogic before joining, so he came in knowing exactly how he wanted to run it.
  • Eirini, Recruiter. 249 conversations, going back to JUXT's first stint on cord in 2021.

Eleven people from JUXT have access to the account, including Jon Pither, their CEO and co-founder. Engineers messaging about a Kotlin role are talking to the people who will decide.
