About Climate Edge
Climate Edge provides remote farm analysis to improve agricultural productivity, They develop products specifically for farming organisations in emerging markets and currently focus on small farms growing cash crops.
James, their Founder & CEO, holds a Masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial, has carried out research for the Center of Environmental Policy and has worked with high profile members of the agricultural sector on on Horizon 2020 projects for Imperial College which have have taken him across Europe .
Our Goal
We were a small team looking to hire an additional NodeJS Developer into our team in a way that was quick an affordable.
Our Situation
Trying other methods
We were previously using StackOverflow, however we found that it was far too time consuming due to the candidates not being vetted before applying to us. The other alternative was using recruiters, but this was traditional recruiters but the prices they charge were way to high for us as a small company.
Choosing cord
We chose to use cord because candidates were pre vetted for quality and to be eligible and willing to work in London, which overcame the problems we had had with other recruitment products.
Also the cost was a much more reasonable and affordable for us than any other alternative.
Using cord
Getting set up
Getting set up on cord was really good, a lot of the leg work was handled for us. It was totally hassle free. I was impressed immediately by the number of candidates available, and I could start filtering and messaging candidates straight away.
Speaking to candidates
The percentage of people that got back to me was around 70%. I really appreciated the quality of the candidates and the fact that there was an initial vetting done to reduce the amount of time wasted.
