We started our next phase of Engineering hiring and wanted to find an alternative to LinkedIn where we could find better quality Engineers.
Our Situation
A search for quality
Using LinkedIn as a recruitment tool can be too manual and time-consuming. The process of setting up searches and scrolling through potential Engineers can take hours, and the response rate is only around 10%. Even when Engineers do respond, the success rate is very low. Using recruitment agencies can also be problematic as, alongside the high cost, we found the Engineer quality is often too low and ultimately they are unsuitable for our business.

Engaged and active Engineers
When one of our roles goes live on cord, the process of finding and reaching out to potential Engineers is made much more efficient by the availability of a pool of pre-generated quality Engineers that I can search through. In addition to my outreach to these Engineers, I also receive a high volume of inbound applications from active Engineers who are seeking new employment opportunities and are genuinely interested in what Learn Amp has to offer. This means that I don't have to put in as much effort to persuade potential Engineers to apply for the role or 'sell' the opportunity to them. The level of engagement among these Engineers is also reflected in their response rates, which are much higher compared to other platforms such as LinkedIn. On average, I see a 50% response rate from Engineers on cord, compared to the 10% response rate typically seen on LinkedIn. Furthermore, these responses are received quickly, often within 24 hours, which allows me to progress people through the hiring pipeline at a faster pace.

One of my favourite features of cord is the seamless transition between Engineers on cord and our ATS. This integration allows for a smooth and efficient transfer of information, with the option for full automation in some cases or just a quick click of a button in others. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, such as dragging and dropping endlessly, which is extremely helpful and saves me a significant amount of time. This feature enables me to work quickly and efficiently, making my hiring process much smoother and simpler.
