As a company that works in the PharmaTech industry, developing new tools to help combat disease, we really needed to continue to make hires into our Engineering and Technology teams throughout COVID19.
Our Situation
Hiring during COVID19
Medidata helps companies combat disease, so we were suddenly even busier than we had been before. This meant that we needed to continue hiring Java, Scala and React Engineers.
Taking ownership of Engineering hiring
I joined Medidata earlier in the year and was tasked with growing our team quickly, and specifically to start hiring people into our Engineering team. I was introduced to cord by my manager, who had made a number of hires on cord before, and it became my tool to use.
Using cord
Active candidates
On cord immediately I could see that the benefit was that you've got active candidates showing up in a way that's easier than on something like LinkedIn. You have candidates on a plate for you! It's everything in one place and it's easy to source someone.
Getting responses
Candidates on cord are very responsive, and since I have been using cord 65% of the people I have messaged have responded positively. This means I've been able to have conversations with over 100 Engineers.
Cutting costs and stopping using agencies
We now only use cord and LinkedIn recruiter as our direct channels. Thanks to the success we have had on cord, we've been able to stop using recruitment agencies altogether.
