About Healios
Healios was founded in 2013 to tackle the global inequality of healthcare provision that affects over one billion people worldwide with mental health and neurodiverse conditions. After assembling a team of talented Healios Pioneers, they created the world’s first family intervention approach delivered through technology for those affected by severe mental illness and their families. Fast forward to today and they have built the world’s most comprehensive range of clinical services across children’s mental health and neurodiverse conditions.
View websiteView cord profileOur Goal
We wanted to find Engineers who not only had the skillset we were looking for, but also had the values and ethos we embody at Healios. We wanted to hire those who cared about our mission.
Our Situation
Endless outreach, low return
We tried traditional outsourcing and LinkedIn but had very little success. The issue with LinkedIn is that it’s such a huge platform and database that you have to send out endless amounts of emails in order to receive any replies at all. Not only is the response rate low, but the time to reply is very slow as well.
Using cord
Where industries and interests align
I set up streams for each of the high-priority roles I have live so I can easily scroll through all of the relevant candidates that match the skillset I require. There are so many highly qualified Engineers I can sift through, and the way cord constructs the profiles for each one makes my job of outsourcing so much easier. Not only can I see what primary and secondary technical skills a candidate has, but I can also see what salary band they expect and where they are qualified to work.
The most useful part of their profile is where it notes what industries the Engineer is interested in working in. That way, if an Engineer says they are interested in working in HealthTech, I know that I am much more likely to garner a response from them if I reach out as our industries and interests align. This no doubt contributes to the high response rate I received on cord.
Instant messaging, quick responses
cord reminds me a lot of WhatsApp - that instant communication I can have between myself and a prospective Engineer is very valuable, and I find myself getting replies within twenty minutes of sending out a message. The most I’ve ever had to wait for a response is a couple of days - a marked improvement over previous outsourcing methods we’ve used. Also, the amount of inbound messages I received was the highest I’ve ever seen. Engineers are engaged, and they actively reach out to us to enquire about our roles. I think what helped with this is the company profile set up for us on cord that allows Engineers to clearly see what we are looking for and if they are qualified for the roles. Not only that, they can see what Healios is about and what we look for in our Engineers, so they can instantly decide if they will be a culture fit too, therefore only relevant Engineers are applying to our roles. This alone saves me so much time.
At the front of the queue
Another great timesaver for me is the tailored message templates and automated follow-up messages I can send on cord. The former makes outreach much swifter, while the latter allows me to quickly chase any Engineer who I may not have heard from within a day. There’s a lot of demand for these high-quality Engineers so little things like this help me remain at the forefront of an Engineer’s inbox. One other really useful feature cord has is the email notification I can set that notifies me the second a relevant Engineer enters one of the streams I have set up. As soon as these come through I can quickly check the profile and, if I like the look of them, instantly send out a message. This allows me to ultimately ‘be at the front of the 'queue' in terms of approaching these Engineers.
