Is there a tradeoff between growth and burnout?

I was working there just for two years, I almost grew too quickly and became an engineering director within a year's time when I was there because an opportunity was presented to me, but the amount of work and change that cost for me actually led me to burnout and I needed to take a break. And if you look at my next step, I'm taking a side step, I'm taking a engineering director role. So the same level, but in a different company, smaller company to calm things down a bit and see if I can grow again. So, yeah, sometimes it works really nicely, but it really depends on the speed and the context of the company you're operating in and whether you are ready for the opportunity or not.
