Can work be truly selfless?

I'm at the level when I became a bit selfless; the opposite of selfish. I see it the same way as driving. When I drive my goal is that everybody gets home as safe as possible with me getting to my point in time. So I will tend to drive in the left lane doing 70, but still in the left. At work, my priority will be to make sure that we have good understanding in the team and that everybody can work and that if have issues, we'll find them out as early as possible.
