C++ is the most in-demand skill for Data Scientists, with those listing C++ as a primary skill receiving 3.6 message requests each on average. Tensorflow and Natural Language Processing (NLP) follow with 2.8 and 2.7 messages received per engineer respectively, with Java (2.4) and Python (2.0) joining C++ as the development languages of choice for in-demand Data Scientists.

Terminology

"Primary skills" refer to the skills that engineers identify as part of their primary skillset when they create their profiles on cord. They can select multiple skills.

"Message requests" are messages sent by companies to engineers, regardless of whether or not the engineer accepts that request.
