cord have analysed the number of messages received by UI/UX Designers with specific skills, and calculated the average number of message requests received per engineer with these skills, allowing Designers to make more informed decisions based on relative demand for their skills.
Unsurprisingly, UI/UX is the most in-demand skill for UI/UX Designers, with 5.6 message requests received by the average designer listing it as a skill. This is followed by Product Design, with an average of 5.4 message requests per designer.
Designers who describe themselves as User Focused receive 4.8 message requests each, followed by those skilled in Figma, with 4.5 message requests each.
Among the 10 most in-demand design skills, Prototyping and Adobe Creative Suite yielded the lowest number of message requests on average, with 3.0 received by the average designer with either skill.
Terminology
"Primary skills" refer to the skills that engineers identify as part of their primary skillset when they create their profiles on cord. They can select multiple skills.
"Message requests" are messages sent by companies to engineers, regardless of whether or not the engineer accepts that request.
