Are start-ups a good idea for recent grads?

I think, and I'm going to plug something that I've found recently, which I love: A lot of people who leave university don't see the start-up world as an option at all. Especially if you are not going to start something, no one sees it as a career path, joining a start-up. When you think about it, at least for me, my university experience, even though we studied engineering, the main career paths were finance and consulting. I think just due to being in London. And some brave few went on to further engineering work or academics, but no one looked at the start-up world as a career path. And I think that's something that more people should do. People graduating university today should look at start-ups as that route.
