How might I benefit from having a mentor?

From the beginning when I joined my first company and the second company and now I'm in my third one, there has always been a more senior person that you can reach out and ask some questions, whether it's checking if criticising designs or looking into the approach to research. Because there's, I think quite a bit of knowledge that you might learn from books, but that kind of practical knowledge, you need to gain it over time and you won't learn until you do it. So having this kind of more senior person as very beneficial.
