What are some tangible benefits of my work?

It should be something that also pays decently for me, but one of the best feelings that I had is when I worked in automotive and I could see a car on the street and I knew that a code that I wrote runs it in that car, safety features cars, and they say, "Hey, we really get the reports that our safety equipment actually saves lives."
