What are the benefits of self-knowledge?

Once I educated myself about the problem, then it became a little bit easier to formulate questions. There's this kind of a cycle, right? It sort of starts wide. You read a few things generically. By reading those things, you then are better able to formulate the next question. And then the next question becomes more specific. And then that gives you more information. And then the next question becomes more specific and you just kind of gradually refine your search until you find what you need.
