Core Functions and Collaboration

HomeServe Finance operates through a structured framework of core functions, each contributing to our success:

  1. (Lending)Product: Responsible for commercial strategy, retailer/installer management and aligning lending strategies with retailer/installer goals to create lending product that meet market demands and the needs of our retailers/installers.
  2. Digital Product: Focused on digital product and technology strategy, customer experience, and ensuring that our platforms deliver exceptional usability and performance. Also encompasses over all delivery responsibility, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and aligned with broader business objectives.
  3. Engineering: Drives the technical execution of our digital solutions, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure platforms to support our business goals.

The Senior Digital Product Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our product teams deliver impactful outcomes aligned with strategic objectives. This includes driving the roadmap, leading product efforts, and ensuring seamless collaboration across key domains to support new product launches and market entries across EMEA.

Role Description
As a Digital Product Manager at HomeServe Finance, you will lead one of our core product teams—Loan Management & Payments, Origination, or Collections & Servicing. Your focus will be on balancing the delivery of new features with the resolution of technical debt and bugs, ensuring that your team operates at peak efficiency while improving the performance of key domain areas.
Key Responsibilities

Delivery Management:

  • Prioritise and balance new feature development, technical debt, and bug resolution to maximise team output.
  • Act as the Product lead for your team, writing user stories, managing backlogs, and facilitating sprint ceremonies.

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders, including Design, Engineering, and business teams, to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.

  • Drive the most efficient delivery model, using Agile practices and tools to streamline workflows.

  • Track and report on delivery metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance team performance.

Product Ownership:

  • Own OKRs for your domain, aligning them with broader business objectives.

  • Use data and customer insights to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the impact of changes.

  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure technical decisions align with product goals.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and priorities effectively to senior stakeholders and the Senior Digital Product Manager.

  • Ensure team efforts align with the strategic roadmap and support broader product initiatives.

Technical Experience & API Integration

  • Experience working with APIs, system integrations, and platform architecture in a product environment.

  • Ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and system performance.

  • Understanding of technical constraints and trade-offs, enabling effective product and engineering decision-making.

  • Exposure to financial services, payments, or lending systems is a plus.

Customer-Centric Design & Prototyping

  • Champion user-centered design principles, ensuring product solutions solve real customer problems.

  • Work with UX/UI and research teams to translate customer insights into intuitive product experiences.

  • Lead and shape prototyping and testing initiatives to validate concepts, mitigate delivery risks, and improve usability.

  • Advocate for continuous discovery & delivery, embedding user research and experimentation into product development.

Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in product management or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and delivery practices.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in tools like Notion, Linear and product analytics platforms.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in financial services, lending, or payments.

Requirements

We have built our entire banking platform in house and mostly in Java. We are looking for people who want to work on building the tooling that is used by our engineers on a daily basis.

We are looking for people who are truly full stack, and are as comfortable polishing their javascript front end as they are debugging the innards of their java applications database interactions, or standing up infrastructure with terraform. We are looking for people who can:

  • Design REST apis.
  • Code backend services, ideally using Java, or another other server side compiled language.
  • Develop modern front ends, ideally using React and Redux.
  • Get their code into the cloud and support it there, ideally on AWS.
  • Believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment.
  • Like to take ownership of a feature from the original idea through to live.
  • Think (like us) that a small number of empowered developers is the right way to deliver software.
