Job Description

As an Inflo Product Manager, you will develop a strong understanding of current and future user needs, acting as a voice of the user while supporting them through new, complex, or evolving product functionality. You will help shape the vision and long‑term direction of your product domain by iteratively defining, scoping, and refining product changes, informed by continuous feedback.

Working closely with software engineering, service delivery, and the wider business, you will ensure the product is well understood, well supported, and aligned to real‑world audit workflows. This role plays a key part in enhancing user experience, improving the quality of audit engagements delivered through Inflo, and maintaining alignment with industry practices.

Responsibilities

As a Product Manager at Inflo, you will:

  • Understand the current and future requirements of users, key prospects, and 'target list' firms through a combination of outbound and inbound activities, including:
  1. Reviewing user suggestions, questions and support tickets raised by users.
  2. Seeking pre-release and post-release feedback.
  3. Organising user workshops, interviews, usability testing and surveys to obtain data.
  4. Liaising internally with colleagues across a range of functions.
  5. Leveraging in-platform data from product usage to gain valuable insights.
  6. Learn from and incorporate feedback from discovery sessions with target customers.
  • Work closely with our lead developers and scrum teams throughout the software development lifecycle, having sound knowledge of agile software development principles.
  • Identify, directly or via internal teams, any product challenges our users/prospects are facing and any blockers from getting optimal use of our products.
  • Support on complex product matters, including providing 2nd line support on escalated support tickets, and triaging bugs/investigations to product owners.
  • Advocate for user requirements and propose product enhancements or changes by working with our UI/UX designers and others.
  • Ensure accordance with relevant regional standards, workflows, and industry best practice, working with our in-house specialist audit methodology team.
  • Prepare and maintain release notes and product guidance with clear & timely communication to relevant audiences.
  • Own, analyse and monitor key defined metrics for usage of products and take timely action to address any identified issues (and even reaching out to thank promoters). Key metrics include:
  1. Net promoter score for customers.
  2. Number of support tickets per 1000 engagements.
  • Collaborate with the Audit Implementation Services (AIS) team to review and monitor the learning and development approach and materials they develop and use, specifically to ensure accuracy on product functionality and appropriate usage.
  • Work directly with the Marketing department to assist with content creation where product knowledge is needed, supporting conversations about product pricing, positioning, and marketing.
  • Contribute to whitepapers and webinars about product enhancements and representing Inflo at industry conferences.
  • Continuously evaluate and help improve product team workflows to align with best practices and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in product management/software development processes.
  • Experienced in external audit of financial statements, with knowledge of auditing and accounting standards (e.g. GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB and Quality Management/Control standards).
  • Strong communicator, with an ability to adapt and collaborate in an innovative team, and able to relay detailed information to a variety of audiences.
  • Be a critical thinker, able to apply sound logical reasoning to all your decision making based on available data.
  • Confidence to challenge and defend product approaches externally.
  • Highly organised, detail oriented, and able to work cross-functionally.
  • ACA or equivalent certification, Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

Core values in action

  • Science - Uses customer insight, audit expertise, and product data to make evidence‑based decisions that improve product value and audit quality.
  • Ownership - Takes full accountability for understanding customer needs, addressing product challenges, and driving improvements from discovery through delivery.
  • Openness - Works transparently and collaboratively with customers and internal teams, actively seeking feedback and clearly communicating product decisions and changes.
  • Agility - Adapts quickly to feedback, regulatory change, and evolving audit practices, iterating solutions to deliver continuous value.

Success Within The First 12 Month

Success in this role means building a deep, expert understanding of Inflo's users and audit workflows. You consistently translate your insights into clear product decisions and meaningful improvements. As a strong voice of the user, you're a credible partner to engineering, delivery, marketing and audit stakeholders, and someone who brings clarity to complex problems. Product changes are well‑communicated, well‑adopted, and supported by evidence, with clear signs of improved user satisfaction and product usage.

Company Benefits

  • 6% Employer pension contributions providing you are a member of the scheme.
  • 25 days holiday + UK bank holidays, with an additional 0.5 days for every year of service.
  • 4x Salary life assurance.
  • Private medical insurance with Bupa.
  • Medical cash back scheme (for optical, dental etc)
  • Flexible working environment – work whenever and wherever that suits you. At Inflo we measure results, not the amount of time you spend behind your laptop.
  • Employee Referral scheme bonus of £1,000
  • Financial support to enhance your home working environment.
  • Opportunity to work from home as a fully remote role within the UK.
  • Opportunity to meet Quarterly in Newcastle with an evening social.
  • Invitation to our Annual Global Gathering.
  • Continued professional development.

Job Description

Starling is the UK’s first and leading digital bank on a mission to fix banking! Our vision is fast technology, fair service, and honest values. All at the tap of a phone, all the time.

Starling is the UK’s first and leading digital bank on a mission to fix banking! We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way.

We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,000 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

Our technologists are at the very heart of Starling and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that is all about building things, creating new stuff, and disruptive technology that keeps us on the cutting edge of fintech. We operate a flat structure to empower you to make decisions regardless of what your primary responsibilities may be, innovation and collaboration will be at the core of everything you do. Help is never far away in our open culture, you will find support in your team and from across the business, we are in this together!

The way to thrive and shine within Starling is to be a self-driven individual and be able to take full ownership of everything around you: From building things, designing, discovering, to sharing knowledge with your colleagues and making sure all processes are efficient and productive to deliver the best possible results for our customers. Our purpose is underpinned by five Starling values: Listen, Keep It Simple, Do The Right Thing, Own It, and Aim For Greatness.

Hybrid Working

We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person. We don't like to mandate how much you visit the office and work from home, that's to be agreed upon between you and your manager.

Our Data Environment

Our Data teams are excited about the value of data within the business, powers our product decisions to improve things for our customers and enhance effective and agile decision making, regardless of what their primary tech stack may be. Hear from the team in our latest blogs or our case studies with Women in Tech.

We are looking for talented data professionals at all levels to join the team. We value people being engaged and caring about customers, caring about the code they write and the contribution they make to Starling. People with a broad ability to apply themselves to a multitude of problems and challenges, who can work across teams do great things here at Starling, to continue changing banking for good.

Requirements

We have built our entire banking platform in house and mostly in Java. We are looking for people who want to work on building the tooling that is used by our engineers on a daily basis.

We are looking for people who are truly full stack, and are as comfortable polishing their javascript front end as they are debugging the innards of their java applications database interactions, or standing up infrastructure with terraform. We are looking for people who can:

  • Design REST apis.
  • Code backend services, ideally using Java, or another other server side compiled language.
  • Develop modern front ends, ideally using React and Redux.
  • Get their code into the cloud and support it there, ideally on AWS.
  • Believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment.
  • Like to take ownership of a feature from the original idea through to live.
  • Think (like us) that a small number of empowered developers is the right way to deliver software.

Company Benefits

  • 33 days holiday (including flexible bank holidays)
  • An extra day’s holiday for your birthday
  • 16 hours paid volunteering time a year
  • Part-time and/or flexible hours available for most roles
  • Salary sacrifice, company enhanced pension scheme
  • Life insurance at 4x your salary
  • Hybrid/remote working
  • Private Medical Insurance with VitalityHealth including mental health support and cancer care. Partner benefits include discounts with Waitrose, Mr&Mrs Smith and Peloton
  • Generous family-friendly policies
  • Varied social groups set up and run by our employees
  • Perkbox membership giving access to retail discounts, a wellness platform for physical and mental health, and weekly free and boosted perks
  • Access to initiatives like Cycle to Work, Salary Sacrificed Gym partnerships and Electric Vehicle (EV) leasing

Full details are available on our careers site

Interview Process

Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:

  • Stage 1 - 30 mins with one of the team
  • Stage 2 - Take home challenge
  • Stage 3 - 90 mins technical interview with two team members
  • Stage 3 - 45 min final with an executive and a member of the people team
