We’re in an exciting growth phase following our Series B funding and are expanding our team. Our hybrid working culture includes three office days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at our Berlin headquarters. Looking ahead, we’re also growing London as our second location, with a new office planned for 2025.

Your role at Kittl

As part of a cross-functional team including product managers, developers, designers and a founding team, you will create and develop an amazing product that you will be proud of.  Your main frontend responsibilities will include building components and ever-evolving UI systems using modern web tech stack. Your backend responsibilities will include working on our internal APIs, billing as well as 3rd party integrations and improving the performance and reliability of our systems, as we rapidly scale our product and organization. You know how to make complex things simple, and can work fast and smart at the same time.


What you'll do

  • Produce high-quality results: You'll contribute heavily to large cross-functional projects that have a significant impact on the business

  • Resolve production issues: You'll assist our skilled support team and operations team in triaging production issues

  • Improve engineering standards: You'll improve tooling and processes


What you’ll need

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of professional development experience with a recent focus on TypeScript, React, and Node.js

  • Testing: Strong proficiency with unit, integration and E2E testing

  • Application state management: Expertise in complex state management

  • ORM&SQL: Experience writing raw SQL, familiarity with ORM tools a plus

  • Cloud: Knowledge of AWS, familiarity with static hosting platforms such as Vercel a plus

  • CI/CD: Understanding of Continuous Integration&Continuous Delivery processes

Requirements

We have built our entire banking platform in house and mostly in Java. We are looking for people who want to work on building the tooling that is used by our engineers on a daily basis.

We are looking for people who are truly full stack, and are as comfortable polishing their javascript front end as they are debugging the innards of their java applications database interactions, or standing up infrastructure with terraform. We are looking for people who can:

  • Design REST apis.
  • Code backend services, ideally using Java, or another other server side compiled language.
  • Develop modern front ends, ideally using React and Redux.
  • Get their code into the cloud and support it there, ideally on AWS.
  • Believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment.
  • Like to take ownership of a feature from the original idea through to live.
  • Think (like us) that a small number of empowered developers is the right way to deliver software.
