Could imposter syndrome hold my career back?

At the beginning when I was looking for a job, I was not going for one level above my current role or something too different from what I was doing, because I always had the misconception that my skillset, or my experience, doesn't really suit the job. So there is that in the equation, and there is a bit of imposter syndrome situation: I don't think I can do the job. I am going to wait a little bit to see if I can do this course. Or I'm going to wait to talk to this person to see if my experience really can suit this job title. And there shouldn't be waiting. There shouldn't be like, oh, let me think about... I think we should be bolder.

And I spoke to a lot of men that said, "Yeah, I know that probably out of 10 hard skills that are required for this job, I probably have five, but I will still go for it because the worst case scenario they will just reject me and that's it. I will still be looking for a job." So I think we should talk a bit more about impostor syndrome, the fact that we do not feel qualified, but we actually are.
