Does salary change in importance over time?

Initially you graduate university and you're just looking for a salary and a job title and some experience, aren't you? You can do internships and all the training programs that you want, but you don't really have any understanding about what a career is and what you get out of it. And I think the longer I’ve worked, the more I've realised that the things that I'm good at and the things that I have a passion for are probably the things that are going to end up generating a salary as well, because if you're good at it, you're probably going to succeed in your area, but also deliver value outside of salary. So there is always that standard of living that you want to preserve, but I think once you have enough to live a comfortable life, then enjoying what you sign online to do every day has a value beyond the salary you take home at the end of the month.
