How does bootstrapping shape a start-up?

My co-founder funded the whole operation in the very beginning. Then it quickly became profitable. So it's an easy business. It's not a money spinning machine... Right now, there's a lot of venture-funded business. It's operating in a slightly different model, whereas a bootstrapped business, you have to really look after your bottom line, which is making profit as early as possible. And then being in survivor mode and then start developing into new markets.
